Diana Hernandez, Managing Director

Diana brings her skills in management and knowledge of government and non- profit infrastructure to Beyond Plastics.

As a former Chief of Staff and Legislative Director in both the New York State Assembly and Senate, she is very familiar with the many moving parts and nuances associated with the successful passage of legislation. In her capacity as Chief of Staff, she managed the daily operations of a diverse staff, while tracking state-wide policy goals. Diana developed strong partnerships with numerous non-profit organizations and assisted them to successfully obtain state capital and operational grants. As Legislative Director, she developed ideas for legislation, devised legislative advocacy strategies, built coalitions, negotiated amendments, and managed all other parts of the legislative process.
