EPA Proposes Designating Vinyl Chloride as a High-Priority Chemical 40 Years After It Was Declared Cancerous
Only July 24, 2024, in an important step for public health and environmental safety, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed designating vinyl chloride as a high-priority chemical under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), because it may present an unreasonable risk to people and the environment. Along with our allies at Earthjustice and Toxic-Free Future, Beyond Plastics immediately released a report detailing the chemical's harms and recommendations for the EPA to consider during its evaluation.
