Beyond Plastics Local Groups are composed of three or more people in a community who want to work together to end plastic pollution through source reduction. Local Groups work to address the upstream causes of plastic pollution including advocacy for plastic bans, building community reuse programs, and opposing artificial turf installations. Affiliates are existing organizations whose work includes reducing plastic pollution. They receive information and support from Beyond Plastics but otherwise retain their organizational identity. For example, Waterkeeper, land conservancy, bird conservation, or composting nonprofits may choose to become affiliates of Beyond Plastics.
