Rebecca Martin, Director of Community Partnerships and Training
Rebecca is a passionate community leader and advocate with over 25 years of experience in environmental and civic work. As founder of KingstonCitizens.org, she led the successful campaign to block a national water bottle company's attempt to control local water in New York State, securing public oversight through a landmark referendum. As Executive Director of the Kingston Land Trust, Rebecca created nationally recognized urban land programs, preserving open spaces and empowering communities. At Hudson Riverkeeper, she co-founded the Hudson 7, a regional intermunicipal council safeguarding drinking water for more than 100,000 people. As the Director of Community Partnerships, she developed a geographic grassroots organizing platform with her team. She is also the project manager for the groundbreaking report on landfill leachate pollution, which uncovered regulatory gaps allowing contamination of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers, vital drinking water sources.
