Eileen Ryan

Eileen Ryan is the founder and leader of Beyond Plastics Greater Boston and is a Steering Committee member of Plastic Free Mass and the Beyond Plastics Virtual Group. She is happy to speak to anyone and everyone about the environmental, ecological, and human health hazards of plastics. Eileen helped to pass the single use plastic bag ban in her community of Watertown, MA, in 2017 and has testified at the Massachusetts State House for many plastic pollution reduction bills. She organizes and attends social and climate justice actions wearing costumes of her own design and carrying her activist art. She can also be found leading women's history walking tours of Boston. Her outfit created for the March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City on September 17th, 2023 was featured in The New York Times.
