🗑️Taking Back Plastic Waste In Mankato, MN◀️

Beyond Plastics Greater Mankato took part in the fantastic swell of grassroots plastic packaging take-backs Beyond Plastics Local Groups and Affiliates organized around the country for Plastic-Free July.

Event organizer Jane Dow, told us, "We collected 310 pounds of plastic - yikes! One hundred people came for ice cream and music and most signed our city council resolution as well as the letters to legislators to support the bills and our letters to big box and grocery stores. I actually ran out of Extended Producer Responsibility letters! We had costumes and signs and people said they had a good time."

Bravo, Jane and crew! 👏Pairing plastic pollution action with ice cream and music is clearly a smart strategy. 🍦🎼🌎
