Killers of the Flower Moon
By David Grann
“I found this to be a truly gripping read. Written by David Grann, a staff writer at The New Yorker, it tells the true story of the members of the Osage Nation who were briefly some of the richest people in America after oil was discovered under the subpar land they'd been pushed onto by the U.S. government in the 1920s (oops!) But the plot thickens, of course, when members of the tribe start dying in mysterious ways, one after the next. What follows is a full on thriller filled with cruelty, betrayal, grief, love and more that offers a fascinating glimpse into this turbulent period of American history, including the birth of the FBI. If you're a film buff, you should also check out Martin Scorsese's 2023 adaptation — I haven't had a chance to watch it yet so I can't comment.” — Eve Fox, Digital Director
