Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins: Put People Over Plastic!
We need your help get a landmark law over the finish line before the New York State Legislative session ends on June 6!
The Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act (S4246-b) introduced by Senator Harckham would require a 50% reduction in single-use plastic packaging over 12 years, reduce climate change emissions, ban 19 of the most toxic chemicals and substances (lead, formaldehyde, PFAS, BPA, phthalates, vinyl chloride, and more) used in packaging, and shift the financial burden of dealing with packaging waste from taxpayers to the companies who are responsible for the packaging.
Please call Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins now with an urgent request to support speedy passage of a strong Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act by scheduling it for a vote on the Senate floor.
